Some Indiana Jones Matte-Painting

Here are some traditional matte-painting from Indiana Jones I found on the net. There are some really pieces of work ! I really like the Pangrazio’s matte showing the house in the snow, it’s really nice, and of course the very famous ending shot of the first film with the hangar.

ILM Matte Painting

Let’s start this blog by an incredible video of Caroleen Green and Mike Pangrazio when they were working at ILM as traditional matte painter. You can see some of their work on Indiana Jones or Star Wars.

In this video, you can easily understand how they mixed the live plate with the glass painting, how tricky it was.
